Vodafone this week launched their home phone and broadband service Vodafone Connect across the UK. Previously, the service had only been available to select customers in some regions as a trial launch, but is now available to over 22 million homes.
At the moment three broadband connection and phone packages are available – 76 Mbps Superfast Fibre+, 38 Mbps Superfast Fibre, and 17Mbps Broadband ADSL, with unlimited broadband usage for each. Discounts on all three packages are available for existing Vodafone customers, with Vodafone Red and Red+ customers also receiving inclusive calls anytime to landlines, and 300 free minutes to mobiles. This means that Vodafone customers could receive 38Mbps Superfast Fibre for £24.49 for the first 12 months, including line rental. The cost of the new services is to be added in with customer’s mobile bills, leaving them one bill for all Vodafone services at the end of the month.
One exciting feature is the ‘innovative’ free Vodafone Connect mobile app, available for both iPhone and Android users, which allows easy control of the router and access to the interesting ‘Boost’ and ‘Beam’ features, along with more standard options such as family and guest controls. The ‘Boost’ feature allows customers to prioritise connection to particular devices, while the ‘Beam’ feature uses ‘beamforming technology’ to focus Wi-Fi signal to select devices when at home.
Vodafone already offers broadband services in 12 European countries, servicing over 11 million customers.
CEO of Vodafone UK Jeroen Hoencamp said: “We are looking forward to many other customers taking us up on our great offer and joining us on our journey to be the UK’s leading providers of entertainment services.”
