Virgin Media Business yesterday announced they have been given preferred supplier status for all ten divisions of the Government’s new Network Service Framework. These divisions include telephony services, conferencing services, and local network services. The Network Service Framework is the primary communications framework for public sector organisations such as local councils, emergency services and health care providers.
Virgin Media Business already have plenty of experience working in the public sector, already serving many local councils and over 250 NHS organisations, however this change is set to see them branch out to many other public sector organisations. In 2014, Virgin Media Business made their mark in the education sector and procured a contract with London Grid for Learning Trust to launch TRUSTnet – a package of digital services and content for schools, powered by Virgin Media Business, which aimed to give 23,500 schools across Britain access to content filtering, faster broadband speeds, and educational content, without excessive costs or hassle.
Regarding the announcement, Virgin Media Business’s Managing Director, Peter Kelly, said: “We are delighted to be recognised by Crown Commercial Services as a preferred partner with outstanding products and services.”
The Network Service Framework is just one of many services Crown Commercial Services are procuring over the coming months.
