CTI (Computer Telephony Integration) allows computer based applications to use a telephone extension, in order to perform combined functions such as call control and screen popping. The two modes of CTI that can be used on the SV8100 system are 1st party CTI, which runs over a LAN and is designed to allow you to connect an SV8100 telephone extension to a PC via the Ethernet connection on the SV8100, and 3rd party CTI, which  employs a similar concept, running on a LAN to allow a user to control their extension using a TAPI application.
